Building Your Financial Foundation

We've spent years helping people understand budgeting in ways that actually stick. Our approach isn't about spreadsheet perfection—it's about creating systems that work with your real life.

How We Got Here

Early 2021

Started with Small Groups

Three of us ran weekend workshops in Hòa Bình, teaching budget basics to friends and neighbors. People kept saying they'd tried budgeting before but it never lasted. That feedback shaped everything that came next.

Mid 2022

Developed the Core Framework

After working with about 80 participants, we noticed patterns. Some methods worked consistently across different income levels and family situations. We documented what actually helped people stick with budgeting longer than a month.

Late 2023

Expanded Regional Access

Opened evening sessions in Hanoi and started offering weekend intensives. We added follow-up sessions because people needed support during those tricky first three months when old spending habits try to creep back.

Throughout 2024

Refined Based on Feedback

Participants told us what confused them, what felt too rigid, what actually changed their daily decisions. We adjusted our curriculum every quarter based on those conversations—still do.

Looking to September 2025

Next Program Cycle Begins

Our autumn cohort launches with eight weeks of core content, then optional monthly check-ins through early 2026. We're keeping groups smaller this time—around 15 people—because deeper discussions matter more than big numbers.

What People Actually Experience

Budget Awareness

Week 2

Most participants report having their first clear picture of where money goes. Not revolutionary, just honest tracking that reveals spending they'd forgotten about.

Consistent Habits

3 Months

People typically develop a weekly routine that fits their schedule. Some check numbers daily, others prefer Sunday reviews. Both work if they're consistent.

Goal Progress

6 Months

Common milestones include building a basic emergency fund or reducing impulse purchases. Progress varies based on income and existing obligations—we help you work with what you have.

Following Up Over Time

Quang's Approach

Completed program: March 2023

Started tracking expenses because his family wanted to save for a motorbike. Took him about five weeks to get into a rhythm. Now he reviews spending every Sunday morning with coffee. He says the habit matters more than the specific app or notebook—he's switched methods twice but kept the routine.

Linh's Experience

Completed program: August 2023

She'd tried three different budgeting approaches before joining us. What finally clicked was matching her budget review to her monthly salary schedule. Checks her numbers twice per pay period and adjusts categories as needed. She's been doing it for 18 months now without missing a week.

Minh's Progress

Completed program: January 2024

Runs a small repair shop and never separated business from personal spending. The categorization system helped him see his actual household expenses. He still comes to our quarterly alumni sessions to ask questions when his income fluctuates. That's exactly what those sessions are for.

How Our Program Works

Eight Core Sessions

We meet once per week for about two hours. Cover tracking fundamentals, category creation, dealing with irregular income, and adjusting when plans don't match reality. Homework is basic—just practice what we discussed.

Your Actual Situation

Bring your real numbers. We work with what you're currently earning and spending, not theoretical examples. Some participants have steady salaries, others have seasonal income. Both approaches get covered.

Follow-Up Support

Monthly check-in sessions for four months after the main program ends. Optional but recommended. Most questions come up when you're three weeks into a new budget and something unexpected happens.

Flexible Methods

We show you several tracking approaches—apps, spreadsheets, notebooks. Pick what you'll actually use. The system matters less than building the habit of regular review.
